Outline

The aim of baccarat is to correctly guess if the players hand (your hand) or the dealers hand will be the closest to 9 or will end in a tie.

How to play

First you have to place your bet on wether you think the next game will be a player win, dealer win or a tie game. Once you have placed your bet you are both dealt 2 cards. The value of 10 and face cards ( J,Q,K ) = 0, and aces = 1.

The largest hand value in baccarat is 9. If the card totals add up to more than 9 then only the last digit of the card totals count. i.e 7+6=13 so hand total = 3.

Third Card Rule

After the first 2 cards have been dealt to both the player and the dealer a third additional card may dealt subject to the third card rule. No player will receive more than a total hand of 3 cards. If both the players hand and the dealers hand equal the same the hand is declared a tie. The table below shows the actions taken for the player depending on the hand value of the 2 dealt cards.

After the player's hand has acted on the third card rule ( if necessary ) the dealer will follow the following rules to decide if they receive a third card.

When the dealers hand totals between 3-6 the following will decide the third card rule.
